Paladins make up a subclass of spellcaster which focuses on serving the light or dark gods. A paladin's spells are entirely dependent on which gods they serve, however they share the following features:

  • Limited spellcasting ability: All paladins can cast their own spells, although the strength and number of spells they can cast are much more limited when compared to Mages, who have all four elements of spells to cast.
  • Able to wear armor: Paladins are the only spellcasters which can wear armor up to iron.
  • Able to use weapons: Paladins can use weapons similar to Warriors however they can only wield up to iron. They can also wield bows and crossbows but cannot use the firework shot.
  • Light or Dark Alignment: All paladins are aligned with the dark or light gods, paladins cannot have a neutral alignment.
  • Limited blacksmith ability: Paladins, although unable to start their own blacksmith projects, are able to assist others with smithing tools, reducing the amount of time it takes to make them.

Paladins (Light Aligned)

Paladins are those who follow the light and spread their message in Mysto. They draw their power from the light gods, and worship them at their altar in Starry. Their powers mostly focus on healing their allies and protecting themselves and others from followers of the dark gods.

Light Alignment

Paladins are light aligned, meaning they have a Purity level. You can gain purity by meditating at the light altar, which is found near spawn. Paladins can gain one purity every 30 seconds while meditating.

While in combat, paladins pull from their purity to empower their spells. Performing actions such as attacking a non evil doer (someone who has not attacked someone else int he last 30 seconds) or killing a non-corrupted individual will result in loss of some purity levels. They can regain them by visiting the light altar. Killing a corrupted person does not reduce purity level.

  • Description: Infuses 2 light shards from the altar of radiance.
  • Damage: N/A
  • Range: Must be within the light altar to cast.

PurityBall

  • Level Needed: 1
  • Xp Given: 20
  • Cooldown: 2 seconds
  • Shards: 4 Light Shards
  • Description: Cast a light ball whose power depends on your purity.
  • Damage:
    • Against Shadow Players: 0.5 + 0.75 * purity (Min 0.5, Max 15.5)
    • Against Non Dark Aligned: 0 Damage, but hits the paladin for 1 damage.
    • Against Monsters: 0.5 + 0.75 * purity (Min 0.5, Max 12.0)
  • Range: 56.0 + 2 * (0.5 + 0.75 * purity) (Min 57.0, Max 82.0)

Detect Darkness

  • Level Needed: 2
  • Xp Given: 10
  • Cooldown: 2 seconds
  • Shards: 1 Light Shard
  • Description: Tells you the corruption level of the target hit.
  • Damage:
    • Against Shadow Players: None.
    • Against Non Dark Aligned: None.
  • Range: 36.0 + 2 * purity (Min 36.0, Max 76.0)

Free Soul

  • Level Needed: 3
  • Xp Given: 1000
  • Cooldown: 300 seconds (5 Minutes)
  • Shards: 4 Light Shards
  • Description: Free a uncorrupted soul from the shadow altar.
  • Damage:
    • Against Shadow Players: None.
    • Against Non Dark Aligned: None.
  • Range: 36.0 + 2 * purity (Min 36.0, Max 76.0)

Free Soul

  • Level Needed: 4
  • Xp Given: 50
  • Cooldown: 10 seconds
  • Shards: 4 Light Shards
  • Description: Protects yourself and others nearby from the effects of dark magic.
  • Damage:
    • Against Shadow Players: None.
    • Against Non Dark Aligned: None.
  • Range: 8 block sphere around your location.

Lightpulse

  • Level Needed: 5
  • Xp Given: 25
  • Cooldown: 5 seconds
  • Shards: 8 Light Shards
  • Description: Cast a light pulse that heals non-dark aligned enemies, and harms dark aligned enemies based on their corruption level.
  • Damage:
    • Against Shadow Players: Either 20.0 damage or (Corruption Level / 5) + 1
    • Against The Dark Lord: 1 Damage.
    • Against Monsters: 14 Damage.
  • Heal:
    • Against Non Dark Algiend: Adds Regeneration 2 for 1 minute.
  • Range: 56.0 + 2 * (0.5 + 0.75 * purity) (Min 57.0, Max 82.0)

Advanced Infuse Light Shards

  • Cooldown: 1 second

  • Description: Infuses 8 light shards from the altar of radiance.
  • Damage: N/A
  • Range: Must be within the light altar to cast.

Bind

  • Level Needed: 6

  • Cooldown: 5 seconds
  • Shards: 4 Light Shards
  • Description: Traps members of the shadow in their place.
  • Damage:
    • Against Shadow Players: None.
    • Against Non Dark Aligned: None.
  • Range: 36.0 + 2 * purity (Min 36.0, Max 76.0)

Light the Night

  • Level Needed: 7
  • Xp Given: 30
  • Cooldown: 5 seconds
  • Shards: 2 Light Shards
  • Description: Gives yourself nigh vision.
  • Damage:
    • Against Shadow Players: None.
    • Against Non Dark Aligned: None.
  • Range: N/A
  • Effect Duration: 1200 Seconds (20 Minutes)

Light Disarm

  • Level Needed: 8
  • Xp Given: 15
  • Cooldown: 5 seconds
  • Shards: 2 Light Shards
  • Description: Disarms your opponent.
  • Damage:
    • Against Shadow Players: None.
    • Against Non Dark Aligned: None.
  • Range: 16.0 + 2 * purity (Min 16.0, Max 56.0)

Purifying Cleanse

  • Level Needed: 9
  • Xp Given: 25
  • Cooldown: 10 seconds

  • Description: Cleanses the shadow user of their corruption by 5.
  • Damage:
    • Against Shadow Players: None.
    • Against Non Dark Aligned: None.
  • Range: 4.0

Oathbreaker Paladins (Dark Aligned)

Oathbreaker Paladins are those who have forsaken the gods of light in order to follow the darkness. As such they draw their power from the dark gods. Their powers mostly focus on harming those who do not share their dark alignment.

Oathbreaker Paladins have a unique feature: Their damage spells heal individuals with corruption instead of harming them!

Becoming an Oathbreaker Paladin

To become an Oathbreaker Paladin, one must fall from grace as a paladin. The way for this to happen is having your soul trapped at the dark altar (either by means of the "soul trap" spell or by being sacrificed / killed at the altar).

Dark Alignment

Oathbreaker paladins are dark aligned meaning they have a Corruption level.

First and foremost, you must have a corrupted wand to cast oathbreaker spells.

Infuse Shadow Shards

  • Description: Sacrifices yourself to the Dark Lords.

  • Corruption: If you have less than 100 corruption, you will gain 1 corruption. This death announces to the server so be careful!

Shadowball

  • Level Needed: 30
  • Xp Given: 20
  • Cooldown: 2 seconds
  • Shards: 2 Dark Shards
  • Description: Cast a Shadowball whose power depends on your corruption.
  • Damage:
    • Against Shadow Players: Adds Regeneration 2 for 1 minute, and hits the caster for 1 damage.
    • Against Non Dark Aligned: Either 18.0 damage or 0.5 + 1.5* (corruption / 15) (Min 0.5, Max 18.0)
  • Range: 36.0 + 2 (0.5 + 1.5* (corruption / 15)) (Min 37.0 , Max 72.0)

EnsnareSoul

  • Level Needed: 32
  • Xp Given: 20
  • Cooldown: 3 seconds
  • Shards: 2 Dark Shards
  • Description: Cast a snare which will bind the target's soul to the shadow altar should they fall. This affect lasts 10 minutes.
  • Damage:
    • Against Shadow Players: None.
    • Against Non Dark Aligned: None.
  • Range: 36.0 + 4 * Number of People who's soul is trapped in the altar

Dark Disarm

  • Level Needed: 40
  • Xp Given: 15
  • Cooldown: 5 seconds
  • Shards: 2 Dark Shards
  • Description: Disarms your opponent.
  • Damage:
    • Against Shadow Players: None.
    • Against Non Dark Aligned: None.
  • Range: 32.0

Corrupt

  • Level Needed: 42
  • Xp Given: 25
  • Cooldown: 10 seconds
  • Shards: 3 Dark Shards
  • Description: Spreads the corruption to others with their souls bound to the shadow altar. On a successful it, you lose 5 corruption.
  • Damage:
    • Against Shadow Players: None.
    • Against Non Dark Aligned: None.
  • Range: 4.0
  • Effect:
    • Against a Paladin (Light Aligned): -10 Purity.
    • Against a Shadow Player: +5 Corruption if lower than 20 corruption, OR +5 corruption if your corruption is higher than theirs.
    • Against a neutral aligned player: +5 corruption
